A beautiful bohemian Wedding at The Wool Tower, Broughshane.

From Sarah’s first contact I knew I liked her. She hadn’t even set a date and was already looking for a photographer, my kinda bride. I love couples who love photos. She talked about how she loved nature and sunsets and I just knew we were a match made. I definitely wanted to be the lucky photographer that got to capture this wedding. And after a few emails back and fourth it turned out that the groom grew up in the street behind mine. What a small wonderful world.

People often ask if I still get nervous before a Wedding and the answer is yes. Always. Nerves mixed with excitement. However, these nerves always disappear as soon as I meet everyone at that morning. People are always so warm and welcoming and Sarah and Andrew’s families were no exception. I was welcomed with big smiles and kindness and lots of offers of cups of tea. Always a plus though I never have time to finish a cup!

And I can’t not mention the talented ladies on hair and Make up. The wonderful Jennifer Ireland and Sarah Little from Oh So Boho hair. Definitely look them up if you’re on the hunt, they are two of the best.

The Wool Tower.

If you have ever been to The Wool Tower you’ll know what a special place this is. Such a beautiful venue that sucks you into a chilled out atmosphere the minute you walk in. It’s incredibly photogenic in every situation which is really all we photographers are looking for.

This whole day was an absolute dream for me to shoot. So many thoughtful details were scattered about the venue, I loved stumbling upon something new. We have a shared love for pampas grass and an autumnal colour palette and these guys absolutely nailed their vision to perfection.

The day ended with an absolutely hilarious game of Him/Her in lieu of a first dance. Definitely steel this idea for your own wedding! Treats were also dished out in the form of delicious s’mores from Vintage Me NI.

Love wins!

It’s also worth mentioning that Sarah and Andrew were not going to let the pandemic stop them from having the best day. Here is an example of two people who didn’t want to put their life on hold and who had the best attitude to everything this year threw at them. And I think it’s obvious that they were reward for their determination to still have their dream Wedding.

I also want to say that I realise that every couple had their own unique struggles when it came to their wedding. Not everyone had the option to reduce numbers and so many were unfortunately forced to reschedule without any other option. It’s such a difficult decision to be faced with and every couple has to make the choice that’s right for them.

Here’s to a lot more celebrations like this one in 2021!
